The G7 group – an association of seven top Portuguese wineries – will celebrate its 10th anniversary on 24 September.
The wineries – Aveleda, Messias, Aliança, Sogrape, José Maria da Fonseca, Esporão and J. P. Vinhos – represent over 400 wine brands, have a combined annual global turnover of US$265m (€273m) and produce 75% of Portugal`s table wine exports.
The celebrations will kick off with a music concert at a monastry in Amarante, in the north of Portugal, followed by a formal dinner at a nearby hotel. Chefs will prepare food matched to the top wines from G7 wineries.
‘G7 is the group that reunites the top seven wineries of Portugal,’ said G7 president Paula Amorim. ‘A number of prominent politicians and top personalities will take part in the celebrations.’
