Tasting: St. Emilion Grand Cru & Premier Grand Cru Classe
Tarry nose, black fruits, liquorice. Plump, rounded, juicy, not too extracted, a bit fresher than the nose, though the tannins remain formidable. The acidity seems modest, which allows the overt fruit to emerge, but there’s not much nuance or finesse here.

Tasting: St. Emilion Grand Cru & Premier Grand Cru Classe
Leafy, red berry nose. Sweet fruited on the palate. Oak a touch imposing. Very dry finish. Powerful wine that needs bottle age.

Tasting: St. Emilion Grand Cru & Premier Grand Cru Classe
Rich, even rather sweet Merlot fruit. Nicely concentrated but also a bit jammy, with some green tannins that stay on the palate and dry out the finish. Not for the long term.
