Italy’s Angelo Gaja will join Georg Riedel to hold an exclusive wine tasting in London to mark the 40th anniversary of Riedel’s Sommeliers Collection later this year.
The celebrated, fourth generation Piedmont producer will partner with Georg Riedel, a tenth generation glassmaker and owner of Riedel Crystal, at the tasting in London’s Vinopolis on September 12.
For £160, guests at the exclusive London tasting will be able to taste three Gaja wines, a Gaia & Rey 2009, Ca’ Marcanda 2008 and Gaja Sperss 2004. They will also receive a Sommeliers glass set worth £315.
Standard tickets cost £110, and include a Vinum XL set instead of the Sommeliers set.
Sommeliers Collection has spent 40 years as the signature Riedel range, since being launched in 1973 as set of
glasses individually designed to pair with different styles of wine.
In 1991, renowned wine critic Robert Parker described Riedel as producer of ‘the finest glasses for both technical and hedonistic purposes’.
