San Brizio
Manufacturer:
Ian D'Agata
Tasting: Soave
Ridiculous golden yellow colour. Then strong oak notes (cloves, vanilla, caramel): where’s the fruit? Then better on the palate with a creamy, vanilla-rich mouthfeel and hints of caramel-coated apple. Impressive and well made, but this could be any grape variety and any wine in the world, so what’s the point?
Michael Garner
Tasting: Soave
Bright, dark gold. full, oaky nose of dried fruits and flowers. Big, broad, ripe and full but heavy vanilla and toffee flavours dominate.

Tasting: Soave
Rather disturbingly golden colour. Intense ‘stamp hinge glue’ nose and toast. Just too much oak. At this level it loses the character of Soave completely and becomes just an oaky wine.
