Situated on the oldest wine-growing terroir in the Bordeaux area, Château Malartic-Lagravière, owned in the 18th century by the Comte de Malartic, admiral of King of France, is taken over in 1997 by the Bonnie family.
From the beginning, the Bonnie Family has been attentive to the 53 hectares (131 acres) of vineyard environment and the impact of tasks carried out by its teams on the vines and the grapes, and the surrounding area: the various habitats, flora and fauna, and water courses near the plots. Several large-scale good practices have been introduced at the property since 1997, with a bio-challenging spirit.
The Vignobles Malartic’s Environmental Charter presents a summary of the rigorous eco-dynamic good practices to which the Bonnie family and its team have been committed since 1997.
Certified in sustainable farming since 2008, both Château Malartic-Lagravière and Château Gazin Rocquencourt’s 75 hectares (185 acres) of vines have been certified High Environmental Value (HVE) in 2015. This HVE – level 3 is a unique reference of environmental quality, prioritizing biodiversity inside and all around plots.
Environmental measures at Vignobles Malartic are our day-to-day way of thinking at the vineyard!
Thus, 2016 is the anniversary year of Château Gazin Rocquencourt’s purchase by the Bonnie Family.
Established in the 17th century, Château Gazin Rocquencourt is a family-run estate pampered like a classified growth by the Malartic-Lagraviere’s teams.
Took over by the Bonnies early 2006, the estate is a 22-hectare jewel in the heart of Pessac-Léognan appellation. We celebrate our 10th vintage with the very promising 2015! You can discover the new web site launched in early March on www.gazin-rocquencourt.com/en.
The promising 2015 vintage will soon be available for en primeur tasting, and you will see that it offers a superb demonstration of the impact of these environmentally friendly practices on our wines, for both Malartic and Gazin Rocquencourt estates.
Wishing you good tastings! Vignobles Malartic, good value for great wines, vintage after vintage!
