Whispering Angel rosé gummy bears sold out in two hours

A website selling gummy bears infused with rosé wine has sold out of the sweets within two hours - with hundreds more hopeful consumers joining a waiting list.

Rosé gummy bears sold out in two hours

US confectionery retailer Sugarfina released the Rosé All Day Bears, which are infused with Whispering Angel rosé wine.

The sweets tap into rosé wine’s surge in popularity in recent years and initial stocks sold out within two hours.

More than 3,400 people were on the waiting list as of Thursday 30 June, said the company on its Instagram account. You can join the waiting list here.

The next shipment of the rosé gummy bears won’t arrive until late July, the firm said.

It added, ‘The rosé gummy madness is out of control… we had no idea it was going to be this crazy.’

About Whispering Angel

Jane Anson described the 2015 Whispering Angel rosé as ‘being fresh, clean, mineral with a white peach expression.’

Whispering Angel has played a key role in the surge in popularity of rosé, and production for the 2016 vintage is expected to be 4.6 million bottles, according to Anson.

Champagne gummy bears

For those who don’t want to wait for wine-infused sweets, Sugarfina also sell Champagne Bears and Bubbly Bears; gummy bears made from Dom Pérignon vintage Brut and Rosé Champagne.

Both the Rosé All Day Bears and Champagne Bears were available for $8.50 a box.
