As part of the Los Escobazos Festival (which originates from shepherding tradition) in Jarandilla de la Vera in Spain, this man is serving ‘Pitarra’ wine at the Puta Pario cellar.
Pitarra wine is named for the small clay pot it was originally made in and traditionally comes from the Caceres region, close to the Portuguese border. For the festival, held in December, bonfires are lit in the street and people process through the village with burning brooms – before celebrating by eating, dancing and drinking Pitarra wines for the rest of the night.
