Alión is Vega Sicilia’s neighbour and sister estate, made from 50% of their own grapes, and 50% purchased from growers in the quality villages of La Horra, Roa, Gumiel, Pesquera and Moralillo. It has deliciously floral aromas, while the palate is altogether more savoury. Dense, juicy damson fruit is joined by herbal notes of rosemary, sage and heather, and the tannins have a firm grip. This was a cool vintage and consequently the wine lacks the intensity and concentration of some preceding years. 100% Tinto Fino. 15 months in new French oak.
