Chateau Bourgneuf Vayron in Pomerol and Chateau La Tour de By in the Medoc have released their Bordeaux 2010 prices, just a week after the official end of the wine futures tasting.
Dominique Vayron, owner of Bourgneuf Vayron, told Decanter.com, ‘We always like to bring out our prices early, and not to wait too long to get our campaign moving. We believe our customers appreciate knowing what they are as early as possible.’
The estate came out 10% higher than last year, at £295 per case in the UK, but suffered from low yields, and will be bottling 28,000 bottles compared to 37,000 last year.
La Tour de By is being offered at £115 a case in the UK, the same price as last year.
John Kolasa, director of Chateau Rauzan Segla but also Ulysses Cazabonne negociants, said, ‘Most of the bigger chateaux will still wait a while before releasing prices. But there will be some mistakes this year, with some people over-estimating the market.’
