Both Decanter magazine and its editorial assistant Lucy Shaw are up for a coveted Roederer award this year.
Decanter along with editor Guy Woodward has been nominated for International Wine Publication of the Year 2010, competing with Imbibe Magazine and The World of Fine Wine.
Earlier this year Woodward won the Grandi Cru d’Italia Foreign Journalist of the Year Award, alongside Eric Asimov of the New York Times.
Lucy Shaw, Decanter and decanter.com’s editorial assistant since late 2007, has been nominated Emerging Wine Writer of the Year 2010 for articles in Decanter.
These include travel pieces on Bordeaux and Madeira as well as numerous interviews for the My Passion for Wine column, with celebrities such as Sir Trevor MacDonald, Sir Terence Conran and Julio Iglesias.
Shaw will be competing with another Decanter writer, Rebecca Gibb, nominated for articles in various publications, Richard Hemming for articles on jancisrobinson.com, and Gabriel Savage for articles in the Drinks Business.
Other Decanter writers nominated are Andrew Jefford and Anthony Rose for International Wine Columnist of the Year 2010 – Jefford for his Decanter columns, Rose for his columns in the Independent.
Jefford and Rose are also nominated for Blogger of the Year 2010.
Veteran wine writer Margaret Rand has been nominated International Wine Feature Writer of the Year, for articles in Decanter and the World of Fine Wine.
Former Decanter deputy editor Catharine Lowe has been nominated for the Artistry of Wine Award for her wine photography.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 13 September.
