Charmes
Manufacturer:
Stephen Brook
Tasting: Meursault 1er Cru 2010
Oily, oaky nose, heavy-handed. Rich, broad, thick, and rather heavy, with too much oak and not enough zest and minerality. Medium length.
Gearoid Devaney
Tasting: Meursault 1er Cru 2010
Smoky nose with stone fruits and minerals. Palate is intense, with gunflint and smoke to the fore, with stony minerality and good acid bringing some lift. Has potential once the oak has settled down.
Steven Spurrier
Tasting: Meursault 1er Cru 2010
Exotic nose, spicy, even a little buttery/creamy with dry herbs and ripe pears. The lemony element continues on the palate, which is quite rich and natural, just a little four-square at the moment, but will develop well in the mid term.
