History:
Larmande has ancient origins. As a place name, it dates from the late 1500s, and the Château cellar itslef bears a date-stone inscribed 1640. Yet it wasn’t until the mid 1800s that the vineyard was established. It was then owned by the Saint Genis family and managed by Germain Meneret. By the 1900s, Meneret himself owned the property in partnership with another leading wine figure of the time, Amédée Capdemourlin. In 1990, the estate was sold by Jean Meneret to La Mondiale insurance group, who have since expanded the vineyard and renovated cellars, and added a fine tasting room.
