History:

Château Laniote exudes a sense of history: not only has it been in the same family for almost two centuries, the estate owns the grotto (hermitage) that once housed Saint Emilion himself. It is the Chapel of the Holy Trinity which stands above the saint’s humble abode that is depicted on the Château label. As a vineyard, Laniote owes its reputation to 19th century wine merchant Pierre Lacoste, who from just a few rows of vines created the makings of the cru classé estate of today. The Château has since passed down through the Lacoste generations by the female line, and is today owned by Arnaud and Florence de la Filolie.
