History:

It is said that Château La Marzelle once formed part of the lands belonging to the ancient Abbaye de Faize, and as such monks would have tended the vines. Now, centuries on, it is owned by Belgian textile industralist Jean-Jacques Sioen and his wife Jacqueline. The couple bought the estate in 1998 and have since overseen extensive renovation of the buildings and vineyards. La Marzelle has been a cru classé since the original classification of Saint-Emilion in 1954/5.
