History:
Vines are said to have existed here since the 1500s, but it is the 20th century that has been witness to Château Bouscaut rise in reputation In 1959, it was one of just six châteaux to have both its red and white wines promoted to cru classé, and there has been much renovation and improvement to the property in recent times. It is adorned with a splendid château, though this is a 20th century ‘reproduction’, rebuilt in 1960 by then-owner Victor Place after a devasting fire. Bouscaut was briefly owned by a New York syndicate but is now owned by the Lurton family. It was purchased by Lucien Lurton in 1979 and passed to his daughter Sophie and her husband Laurent Cogombles in 1992.
