History:
It was the Compte d’Arche whose name attached to the estate he owned for over half a century, until 1789. Seemingly, he was a benevolent influence, and had built a high reputation for the estate until the splintering of it, forced by the Revolution, diminished the quality of product. During the 1960s, some of the original d’Arche estate was reunited and the property leased two decades later to former INAO director Pierre Perromat under whose direction it prospered. D’Arche’s second wine, Arche-Lafaurie, is named in honour of M Lafaurie, one-time owner of Château Lafaurie-Peyreguey and former shareholder in Château d’Arche.
