Wither Hills Vineyards
Manufacturer:
Peter McCombie MW
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Vanilla and spice, fragrant: quite oaky but there is good depth of fruit to balance, with fresh acidity and firm, ripe tannins. Good length.
Christine Parkinson
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Dusty, sawmill aromas; bright, juicy black cherry and blood orange fruit on palate with a touch of earthiness. Oak is moderate, despite the nose, and fruit holds centre stage to the end. Sinewy tannins, with integrated acidity.
Joanna Simon
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
A lot of oak on nose – almost Rioja-like. Dominates the palate too, although underneath there’s an attractive core of cherry-raspberry fruit and a framework of fine tannin and acidity.
