Could it be the perfect wine job? California’s Murphy-Goode Winery is offering US$10,000 a month for someone to eat good food, drink wine, live in a luxury home – and blog about their experiences.
The successful Twitter-literate applicant will spend six months with the Sonoma producer, undertaking such onerous tasks as ‘tasting hundreds of wines’ and ‘testing potential picnic sites’.
They will live in a ‘deluxe private home’ in Healdsburg, within walking distance of the Murphy-Goode tasting room, and will have their return airfare paid by the winery.
In return for duties including the exploration of Sonoma County’s vineyards and creating a special wine to mark their time with the company, they will be expected to file reports via weekly blogs, photo diaries, Twitter, Facebook, video updates and media interviews.
The company has already been besieged by hundreds of eager applicants, who have to complete an online application form upload a 60-second video about themselves. Closing date for applications is 5 June.
