Bordeaux 2008 en primeur – Fronsac, Canon-Fronsac & satellites

If good vineyard management techniques were applied and producers held out to harvest late then consumers will find plenty of good value wines in 2008. Colours are deep, the fruit juicy and the structure firm, fresh and ripe. Naturally lower yields (mildew, coulure) assisted with the concentration, thereafter it came down to vineyard cultivation and the patience to harvest late. Hail in June affected production in Montagne Saint-Emilion. James Lawther MW
