‘A nice year for late-harvest as the berries didn't shrivel enough for Aszu,’ explained buyer, Caroline Gilby MW – meaning that some of the fruit which would have been used for the winery's top style of sweet wine, known as Aszu, was instead used for this. Peachy, with a touch of orange, it's a floral and soft, easy-drinking dessert wine with lower residual sugar than alternatives made from grapes affected by botrytis, such as Sauternes. Equally at home with cheeses, terrines or cream desserts. Available from 30 November.
