Cline Family Cellars, Nancy's Vines Viognier, California, USA 2020

Great value at the mix-six price, this is made by family-owned Cline Cellars, one of California's original 'Rhône Ranger' producers. There's 14% Pinot Gris added in, and no oak influence – just lees ageing in stainless steel. It carries the punchy alcohol well, round and fleshy with ripe peach and apricot stone fruit. Rich and golden, and almost tropical in character, but with good acidity to keep it fresh.
