Tasting: Tasmania & Victoria Pinot Noir

Faintly grassy, but rather blank after that. Not a lot of aromatic pleasure here. Vivid, long and concentrated, with plenty of sinewy Pinot flavour and some backing tannins, but rather low on charm. Aromatically complex, though, with some floral notes towards the back palate. Almost a very good wine, if only it had slightly more focussed aromas.

Violets and delicate almonds on nose. Palate gives a luscious summer fruit bombe in a controlled manner, then leaves a delicate, creamy, custard mouth-feel, with just a touch of acidity to clear it for the next glass.

Aromatic herbs and spices on the nose with light raspberry character. Medium bodied, structured with bright fruit and medium-long aftertaste. Needs time for the phenolics to integrate.
