Richard Baudains

Tasting: Chianti Classico Riserva

Mountain berry fruit, hints of vanilla and spice, tight, slightly nervy palate, fruit driven, precise, dry and juicy finish.

Emily O'Hare

Tasting: Chianti Classico Riserva

Very bright juicy fruit but too simple in its fruit character, none of that Sangiovese warmth or spice.

Michael Palij

Tasting: Chianti Classico Riserva

Modern nose modelled on red fruit with delicate oak influence and refreshingly bright acidity. Although initially this wine lacks the up front power and appeal of so many of these wines it shows its traditional roots to best advantage with lower alcohol and higher acidity framing the fine tannins and delicate fruit. This could turn out to be a sleeper.
