Richard Baudains

Tasting: Chianti Classico Riserva

Leathery, pruney, with green grass under-notes. Palate bone dry, with toasty oak and coffee, cooked fruit finish.

Emily O'Hare

Tasting: Chianti Classico Riserva

Ruby to pale orangey red rim with nutty and savoury mouth feel. Not over extracted or overworked, good honest Sangiovese,

Michael Palij

Tasting: Chianti Classico Riserva

Garnet rim indicates a wine maturing at an alarming pace. Nose is similarly developed with pronounced notes of forest floor, tobacco, and black fruit. There is an appealing juiciness to this but that masks the simplicity of fruit that relies on a wave of alcohol to carry home the finish. At the end of the day it is insufficiently complex to warrant a higher score.
