Tasting: Medoc crus classes 2009

Rich black cherry nose, with an undertow of oak. Plump, ripe, succulent, and concentrated, with firm but fine-grained tannins and some chocolatey oak. It may lack some refinement, but there’s ample solid fruit here, and plenty of spice. Good length.

Tasting: Medoc crus classes 2009

Quite restrained, backward nose, with blackcurrant and plum. Fine fruit on the palate but quite spicy, high acidity, not quite the concentration one seeks from this vintage. A touch hard and dry on the finish. Needs time but has potential.

Tasting: Medoc crus classes 2009

Very good depth of cassis fruit, good tannins and good length. All well blended together, still a bit raw and rustic, but will be a very good wine for the future with solid, vigourous fruit made to last.
