A photographer who took pictures of wine barrels at an Oregon estate has won the of Errazuriz Wine Photographer of the Year 2016 competition. See the photo below, as well as those by other sub-category winners...
Entrants from around the world submitted their best pictures of wine to the Errazuriz Wine Photographer of the Year 2016 competition. Robert Holmes was crowned this year’s winner for his atmospheric photo of barrels at Maysara winery in Oregon.
His photo was displayed at a ceremony in London this week, as part of the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2016 competition.
Sophie Wren, brand manager for Chilean wine Errazuriz, said, ‘there were over 7,000 images and films entered into the awards internationally and the standard was phenomenal. Robert’s image stood out from the rest in this category, however, for its beautiful lighting and atmosphere, which takes you right into the picture.’
The wine photography section of the Pink Lady competition is divided into three sections, and Holmes won the ‘place’ sub-category before going on to take the overall wine category prize.
He wins a year supply of Errazuriz.

The Pink Lady competition winners were announced in front of 400 people at a Champagne Taittinger reception in central London on Tuesday 26 April. Sarah Kemp, Decanter’s managing director, was on the judging panel of the wine photography section.
