Summer is attempting to appear in the UK, which means it’s time for the annual Chelsea flower show, taking place at a vast expanse of space close to the banks of the Thames river in West London.
Inspired by the Marlborough wine region in New Zealand, as well as the notion of escape and nature, the Cloudy Bay garden is a winner of the Silver Gilt award.

The Cloudy Bay garden includes heathers, pines and grasses. The decks, boardwalk and cabin are made of red cedar, said the winery in its description of the installation.
The garden was designed by landscape architect Sam Ovens, a Chelsea newcomer and one of the youngest to be displaying their work at the this year’s Chelsea flower show.
Ovens said of his creation, ‘The Cloudy Bay Garden explores a freedom that has no bounds, providing a sense of escape that can take us anywhere.’

After the Chelsea flower show, elements of the garden will be relocated to Stoke Mandeville hospital – spiritual home of the Paralympics. Charity Horatio’s Garden, which provides accessible gardens to spinal injury centres across the UK, is sponsoring the move.
Cloudy Bay was founded in 1985 by David Hohnen and is today part of the Moet Hennessy wine and spirits company, which is itself owned by French luxury goods group LVMH.
Chelsea flower show 2016 runs between 24 and 28 May inclusive.
