Domaine de la Voûte des Crozes, Côte de Brouilly 2015
Trained as an oenologist in Beaune followed by a brief internship in California, Nicole Chanrion returned to her roots in Beaujolais and took over the 6.5 hectare domaine from her father in 1988. She works almost entirely by herself, from tending the vineyards and working in the winery, to bottling and selling her wines. She follows traditional methods, such as whole bunch fermentation, ageing in large oak foudres, and bottling without filtration. This offering is very juicy and bright with pure red cherry and floral aromas. The palate is robust, demonstrating power and depth. A great foody wine.
