History:

The ancient estate dates back to the late 1300s and has had an eclectic mix of owners, including Bordeaux hospices, councillors to the Parliament of Guyenne, the Benedictine monks of Sante-Croix and in the 19th century the great wine-growing family of Bouchereau. Before phylloxera, the Great Depression, two world wars and frost devastation in the mid 1950s, it was a successful affair, but the place was in a much reduced and sorry state when it was purchased by the Perrin family in 1956. Today, though, it is the largest of Graves’ cru classé vineyards and under the family’s ownership its fortunes and reputation have been restored. Today, third-generation brothers Philibert and Eric Perrin are in charge.
