Lay of the Land

Peter McCombie MW

Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir

Ripe, exotic, spiced fruit, crowd pleasing; fleshy, and black cherry fruit, with clean bite but dryish oak tannins slightly dominant on finish. Needs time or food.

Christine Parkinson

Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir

Savoury nose and palate, with subdued truffley notes, core of black fruit, and grassy edge; feels a little stretched. Firm, chewy tannins are rather extracted, and finish a little warm

Joanna Simon

Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir

Deep colour and very rich, black cherry and toasty oak nose. Concentrated, but in a rather hefty way with a lot of spicy, almost peppery oak masking the fruit, which is dense and not very elegant.
