Spoleto, one of Umbria’s most renowned medieval towns, is opening its gates to 200 wine estates.
Some of Italy’s top estates – including Avignonesi, Montevetrano, Antinori, Frescobaldi, Banfi, Foradori and Paternoster – will showcase their wines at an event called Vini del Mondo, runs from 16-18 September.
It aims to bring together wines from around the world – about 2,000 of them, to be tasted by around 50,000 visitors.
Vini del Mondo falls two months after Spoleto’s world-famous music, literature and dance festival, Due Mondi, which runs from 1-17 July.
