Unanime – Mascota Vineyards’ Pearl
Unanime, from the Latin ‘unanimis’ refers to a group of people who share the same opinions or views, who are in complete harmony or accord.
This simple word summarises the spirit of this special project: when we were finishing the 2005 harvest, both our winemakers and agronomists agreed that the time was ripe to start crafting a superior red blend, a ‘Gran Vino Tinto.’
We wanted to showcase the great wines Argentina can offer when exceptional climate and passionate people harmoniously come together as one.
This blend is made of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec and 15% Cabernet Franc. All the grapes were grown in selected old vineyards from the Uco Valley, in Mendoza.
Deep cherry-red in colour, UNANIME stands out for the intensity of its fruit flavours and its aromatic complexity. Its long 20-month ageing in French oak confers it elegant aromas of tobacco and chocolate, along with a touch of blackpepper and some fleshy notes. This wine will continue to age nicely for years to come.
Unanime 2011 was awarded 93 points and was selected as the Editor’s Choice in the red blends category by the American wine magazine Wine Enthusiast.
