Château Castera 2014

Rich damson plum in colour. Forgivable in a barrel sample, this is still fairly heavy on the vanilla oak which brings the finish to a slightly abrupt halt. The fruit is firm and ripe, feels nicely textured and an enjoyable drinker, even without huge persistency. 62% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot.
