Domaine Lapierre, Raisins Gauloises 2015
This is just a joy to drink – simple and uncomplicated but full of vital cherry, cranberry and raspberry, dusty fruit tannins and lively acidity to keep your palate wanting more. It’s one to sneak into the glasses of friends who dismiss the ‘natural wine’ movement. Made from ‘young’ vines of 20 to 30 years old, winemaker Camille Lapierre describes it as a style that’s ‘too late to be Beaujolais Nouveau, too early to be Morgon’.
