Chateau Marquis d'Alesme

Tasting: Medoc crus classes 2009
Cassis nose, with a lightly herbal character too – quite perfumed overall. Rich and sleek, concentrated and fleshy, with good intensity and drive. It’s lifted and persistent, and the tannins are well integrated and give the wine the necessary grip and structure. Very long. It’s discreet and subtle, but should deliver the goods in time.

Sweet hedgerow fruit on the bouquet. Good fruit on the palate but not typically Margaux. A bit clumsy for this level. Lots of fruit but no finesse. Medium length on the finish.

Good expression of blackcurrant fruit on the nose, quite broad, quite robust fruit, slightly leathery and earthy, good depth and grip. Still a bit green and tight on the finish.
