Chateau Rauzan-Segla
Manufacturer:
Stephen Brook
Tasting: Medoc crus classes 2009
Muted nose, mild black fruits. Quite rich, reasonably concentrated, with rather chunky tannins and good acidity. A bit one-dimensional and lacking in flair, but has attractive fruit without much complexity. Well judged oak. Perfectly sound but lacks distinction. Quite good length.

Tasting: Medoc crus classes 2009
Restrained, slightly dumb nose, opening out more with time. More open on the palate, with sweet ripe fruit to the fore. Quite alcoholic – 14%, so a touch of imbalance and a lack of elegance for Margaux, but quite weighty nevertheless. Not very elegant and a medium to long finish.

Tasting: Medoc crus classes 2009
Quite robust 2009 fruit, perhaps a little cooked or over-ripe. Good depth, tannins to back up the fruit, but lacks the lift of its appellation.
