Churton
Manufacturer:
Peter McCombie MW
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Scented, vanilla oak: upfront fruit in the mouth with quite astringent grip on finish.
Christine Parkinson
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Sour plum and savoury oak aromas; Palate seems lean but has silky, glossy mouthfeel and light, gripping tannins. Ripe red fruit but also a piquant note, like strawberries with black pepper, or pickled plums. Long finish, with attractive minerality.
Joanna Simon
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Very deep colour. Ripe, almost jammy black fruit fruit nose with coffee-ish oak on nose. Chewy tannins on palate with black fruit (although not jammy like the nose) and black peppercorn flavours. Dense, solid, lacks finesse.
