Clayvin Vineyard
Manufacturer:
Peter McCombie MW
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Roasted tamarillo, vanilla, savoury; soft and fruity, but with firm backbone. Quite firm dry finish; needs food.
Christine Parkinson
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Ripe fruit on nose: indistinct ripe frut on palate. Lacks definition, but ripe and juicy. Tannins are rather chewy, but not over-extracted. Warm alcohol on finish. Pleasant enough, but lacking concentration and expression.
Joanna Simon
Tasting: Marlborough Pinot Noir
Very deep colour. Savoury, oaky, forest floor aromas overlaying dense black fruit. Dense and chewy, with black fruit, a hint of green herb and fine, slightly grainy tannins. A very distinctive, dense style.
