Borie la Vitarele, Les Schistes, Saint-Chinian, Languedoc-Rousillon, 2011

Les Schistes

Score

86
  • Drink: 2013 - 2016

Manufacturer:

Borie la Vitarele

Rosemary George

Tasting: Languedoc

Rounded nose, ripe and sweet – and on palate too. Soft ripe and supple and a bit alcoholic on finish. A lovely ripe finish – sunshine and garigues.

Andrew Jefford

Tasting: Languedoc

Deep black-red. Vague and unfocussed, but appetising. Juicy and chunky on the palate. Generous but without a lot of shaping finesse. Excellent raw materials, though.

Simon Taylor

Tasting: Languedoc

Ready aromas. Very aromatic – from a liquorice and herb-scented core of black fruit, this really expands on the palate. Intense & very characteristic of the Languedoc.
