Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010
Delicate, pretty, almost febrile cherry and blueberry nose, quite oaky. Medium-bodied, fresh and zesty, a racy style but there’s little depth of fruit. It’s only moderately concentrated, and though the tannins give a little backbone, there’s a hint of sour fruit on the finish, suggesting that, like the nose, this is not particularly ripe, though it’s refreshing. Medium length.

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010
An attractive nose dominated by black fruit and spring flowers bodes well. This promise is upheld on the palate which is effortlessly harmonious and rounded. The sapidity and chalky acidity impress particularly adding a real dimension of stony terroir to the beautifully ripe core of fruit. Complex and beguilingly simple at the same time, this captures for me the personality of fine St. Joseph

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010
Narrow corridor of red berry in the bouquet, a lightly alert air about it, with some mellow floral scenting. The scented note continues on the palate, the tone of violets runs through its delicate red fruit, has a spot of meatiness as it closes, a further layer of content. Close to ready now, an accessible, fragrant wine with no pretension to power and influence. Can be drunk solo, without effort.
