Les Echamps

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010
Firm brooding plum and black cherry nose, ample fruit here. Rich and suave but with good underlying acidity and some robust tannins. At present it’s a bit raw and I don’t find much complexity or persistence. The finish is tart.

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010
Youthful and a little raw; summer pudding mid-palate with white pepper and sousbois behind the black-fruit. Hitherto a little drying on the finish; expectations are not great in Dickensian vein, but they are far from negligible, given the mid-palate weight and the quality of the vintage.

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010
Grainy dust airs in a rather creamy black fruit aroma; the bouquet is plump. The fruit rolls easily along the palate, broadens towards the finish. The tannins fit in comfortably. A safe bet, close to ready now. Has a little kick on the finish, a spark of acidity there, so ends clearly. Could have a little more matter after half way.
