La Releve
Manufacturer:
Stephen Brook
Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010
Light red fruits nose, cherries. Fresh, silky, but simple, not green but not especially ripe either. Has a pallid charm but I doubt this will age well. Medium length.

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010
Persuasive and eloquent nose dominated by ripe red fruit, herbs and spice; the palate follows a similar plot, with ripe fruit and good weight, maybe just a little short on acidity, so may not age quite as well as one may have hoped.

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010
Reductive, toffee air, a baked fullness in the bouquet, so black raisin, date feature. Definitely a warm wine here – has a toasted, grilled nature along the palate, more on octane than purity. Suited to country foods, stews. It is bundled into a ball of prune and spiced plum, with tobacco notes on the aftertaste. A shade clumsy.
