Clos de Cuminaille

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010
Discreet blueberry nose. Quite rich and suave, has some weight and concentration, but not at the expense of acidity. It’s quite taut, though the tannins are relatively light. There’s attractive fruit but it lacks some drive. Quite good length with a light bonbons character on the finish.

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010
A raw and slightly oaky nose, youthful and slightly unformed, but with notes of white pepper and peat at the back, leads to an elegant and nicely balanced palate. Peppery and pleasingly edgy, this has balanced acidity, plenty of attitude and an poised yet authoritative finish.

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010
Smoke top note to its loganberry, blackberry aroma – a young nose, with potential, shows lardon, bacon bits and a light note of southern garrigue herbs as well. The palate bears a smoky cassis fruit which shows discreetly and has fine length, and a plum, red berry, iris-scented aftertaste. Good acidity within it – allowing it to move with clarity. Nothing overdone here. Fine St. Joseph.
