Clos des Cazaux, Les Clefs d’Or Blanc, Vacqueyras 2014
White Vacqueyras represents just 4% of the appellation’s output, which may explain why it is hard to fine, but it can offer excellent value so is worth searching for. Predominantly Clairette blended with 30% Roussanne, this cuvée has seen no oak and no malolactic, offering fresh, pure floral and mirabelle plum fruit aromas. Pristine acidity on the palate combines with a nice texture and fruit depth of flavour on the finish.
