Tasting: Soave

Pale straw green. Pear drop initially on the nose, then rosemary and herbs and a little austere and bitter at the back. Clean and well made but this could use a bit more fruit, and the acidity comes across as disjoint from the rest of the wine.

mid silver lemon. Ripe, scented ginger and flowers, mineral edge. Full ripe and round with juicy and fleshy fruit flavours. Long, mineral-toned finish with impressive bouquet of herbs and flowers.

Very youthful – even a bit soft on the nose. Seems a very correct wine but very middle of the road. Lacks much character – a pleasing dry, white wine which really could be anything. Recommend to drink but lacks any particular Soave character.
