Serre

Tasting: Tasmania & Victoria Pinot Noir
Looks a little older already: bricking red. Rather sinewy, scrawny Pinot scents with some herbaceousness. On the palate, this is a very well-crafted wine with great breadth, richness and textural seduction. The problem I suspect is Pinot in this place: it still has that very insistent herbaceous edge which is very unbecoming. Keroseney finish. Please, allow the fruit to ripen a little further. If that doesn’t work, then it really is the wrong place for this variety.

Rose buds, violets and some cedar on nose. Red meat juices followed by a lovely intensity of red berries and floral nuances. Creamy texture which goes on and on; a real classy wine.

Complex and pronounced on the nose with notes of ripe strawberries and a light minty character. Structured, with spiky acidity, grippy tannins and medium-long aftertaste. Needs time.
