Tasting: Tasmania & Victoria Pinot Noir

Much less herbaceous than its Geelong peers. Rather full and soupy and lacking the diagnostic Pinot refinement, but at least we are smelling ripeness. On the palate, by contrast, this is rather squeezed and edgy and inky and early picked, lacking the sweet open beguiling poise. Sturdy, vivid Pinot for Sauvignon lovers.

Toasty on nose then rich, creamy brambles on palate. Soft acidity, clean, fresh and lingering fruit.

Elegant and perfumed with notes of raspberries and mint on the nose. Juicy and structured with a still-grippy texture, sturdy acidity and long spicy aftertaste.
