Caillerets

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Sweet, advanced red fruit and mineral nose; ripe fresh, juicy wine within a firm acidity and firm, dry tannin – a very firm structure to a modestly ripe fruit. Tastes austere and red fruited for the moment, lean overall for me. Good fruit within an austere frame! Will need plenty of time!

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Good fresh colour, young rim. Well-expressed, quite jammy summer fruits on the nose, good supple fruit on the palate, good vigour and lift yet the fruit lacks a little precision, ending broad and a little stewed. Good, but not quite the class expected from Caillerets

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Muted nose of cassis, some perfume. Fruit on palate as nose, extracted thick-ish texture. Smooth, medium tannins, and a medium finish.
