Clos de la Chapelle, Monopole
Manufacturer:
Michael Schuster
Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Rather plain to smell; pleasant medium weight with a light, dry tannin, modest red fruit flavour, marked acidity, lesser 1er Cru complexity and good, light red fruit, with austere length. Quite good, but lean as yet, lacking real ripeness.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Good Pinot colour, a little diffuse on the rim. Slightly briary, berry fruit nose with lifted fragrance and some maturity. Quite smooth at first with the briary/greenness coming through, but the natural fruit and vigour will dominate; good wine, good future.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Restrained, red cherry fruit on nose. On the palate the acidity is marked and not backed up by generous fruit, althought it is quite pure, if high-toned. Tannins medium, slightly earthy, medium finish. Decent.
