Clos des Chenes
Manufacturer:
Michael Schuster
Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Sweet fruit to smell, medium-full, with limited fruit pinched by too much new wood – dry and lean overall, in spite of a hint of ripe fruit there as well; just lacks really ripe fruit – good fruit length hints at the 1er Cru quality, but this will be a doubtful long term prospect; good but tough.
Steven Spurrier
Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Fine bright red, young rim, fine expression of red summer fruits on the nose, fine precise fruit on the palate and good grip from oak and tannins, still a touch green, but good future in the floral yet precise Volnay style.

Tasting: Volnay 1er Cru 2010
Appealing red fruit nose, vibrant and fresh on the palate, with present medium tannins. Good balance and vibrant red fruit which is a little shy and lacks the intensity to make it great. Fresh, fruity finish with a good tannic structure.
